Course Content

Leadership Essentials: How is leadership different from management? What are effective and ineffective leadership behaviors? And how do you handle difficult leadership situations such as leading former peers, handling unmotivated employees, or supervising people who "know it all?"

Midterm Challengue: 

  • Aligning business functions with business strategy
  • The complexity and uncertainity of stakeholder-oriented corporate communication.
  • The impact of various financial decisions on business operations
  • How to win the customer (value vs winning proposition)
  • How to organize and create and effective and efficient decision-making process

Intended Learning Outcomes and Competencies

Leadership Essentials:

This course helps you develop the skills you need to motivate, coach, and asses people to get them on-board with your goals and strategies. You will be familiarized with state-of-the-art thinking on leadership and research outcomes form other 100 years of leadership research to ultimately improve your leadership skills

Midterm Challengue: 

This course offers a vivid action‐based learning experience of strategy making and execution.In an increasingly complex market setting of competitive strategic interaction, strategic and tactical decisions have to be taken with respect to typical business functions, such as purchasing, production, marketing & sales, finance, human resources, and R&D) while stakeholder influences have to be anticipated and managed. In various assignments, teams will have to formulate and present their competitive and corporate strategies and justify their decisions.

The course combined with the midterm challenge accounts for 2.5 ECTS, and attendance is mandatory. However, there will be no exam.
