Intended Learning Outcomes and Competencies
This seminar aims to gain a transdisciplinary and integrated view of supply chain-related decision problems. Primary emphasis is placed on the design and analysis of operations encountered in manufacturing and service industries. Students will explore key elements in Operations Management including plant location, facility layout, inventory, as well as production planning and control.
Basic problem settings and solution methods will be addressed. The task is to study and critically assess the corresponding stream of scientific literature. Each participant presents the findings in a written report as well as in an in-class presentation.
