FTMBA2026 Conscious Communication for Future Global Leaders - From Empathy to Resilience
Course Content
The ability to work with and lead a team effectively and responsibly is fundamental for career success at all levels of management. Effective global leadership requires more than technical expertise - it demands the capacity to communicate mindfully, navigate cultural differences, and build meaningful human connections across boundaries. This two-day experiential workshop provides MBA students with a conceptual and practical foundation for developing these essential leadership competencies through the lens of positive psychology, with a focus on non-violent communication (NVC), intercultural competence, and mindfulness-based resilience.
As future leaders in global organizations, students will encounter diverse teams where physical distance, cultural variation, and differing communication styles can lead to misunderstanding and mistrust. This workshop equips participants to meet these challenges by cultivating conscious communication skills that foster empathy, authenticity, and psychological safety. Through a combination of case studies, experiential group exercises, simulations, and guided self-reflection, students will learn how to engage in constructive dialogue, manage conflict with compassion, and promote collaboration across cultural and interpersonal divides.
The course emphasizes both self-development and team development, encouraging participants to explore how their own emotions, values, and cultural assumptions shape their communication and leadership style.
Grounded in evidence-based practices from positive psychology and intercultural communication, this workshop helps students enhance emotional intelligence, resilience, and interpersonal effectiveness, preparing them to lead diverse teams with clarity, empathy, and integrity in a globalized business environment
