Course Content

The following topics are discussed:

 

  • Tests of measurement reliability
  • Tests of external validity
  • Analysis of one-factorial experimental designs
  • Analysis of advanced experimental designs
  • Contrast analysis
  • Mediation analysis
  • Causal inference
  • Instrumental variable analysis

Intended Learning Outcomes and Competencies

This course introduces students to the principles and practices of behavioral research, focusing on methods for testing hypotheses and establishing causality in psychology and business settings. Topics include measurement reliability, experimental design, and statistical techniques for analyzing data from psychological studies. By the end of the course, students will be able to design, conduct, and interpret psychological research that informs decision-making in business contexts.

 

Upon completion, students will be able to:

 

  • Understand and apply methods to evaluate measurement reliability.
  • Analyze data from both simple and advanced experimental designs.
  • Conduct contrast and mediation analyses to explore complex psychological patterns.
  • Utilize methods for causal inference, including instrumental variable analysis, to draw accurate conclusions from observational data.
  • Effectively report the results of psychological studies, particularly in the context of their Bachelor thesis.
